Welcome to second grade! I am Mrs. Franks and I will be your second grade teacher. I am thrilled to be at Paddock and excited to travel through second grade with you. Second grade is packed with tons of reading adventures, fun math concepts, community enrichment projects, and scientific hands-on discoveries. It is sure to be a year filled with learning and many memories.
Paddock is such an awesome school filled with lots of friendly people. This will be my sixth year teaching; my first two years I taught first grade in Hartland, Michigan, I was Ms. Alef the kindergarten teacher here at Paddock, and now this will be my third year of second grade. Before that, I had the pleasure of working for Saline Area Schools for over five years as a substitute teacher, as well as the coordinator and teacher of their Counting on Math program for Community Education. I student taught in a second grade classroom, and have held three long term subbing positions.
Just for a little personal information about me: I am an energetic teacher who loves learning! I grew up in Ypsilanti, Michigan and earned my bachelor's degree from Eastern Michigan University in April of 2009, and my Master's degree from Marygrove College. My family is huge and a big part of my daily life. My son Michael is just over four months old and is the light of my life. I am a huge baseball fan, enjoy reading, and have recently developed a passion for writing! I hope you will share details about your life and I look forward to us getting to know each other better.
